Missing man found alive in Menands

MENANDS — An 86-year-old man who had been missing since Thursday after he walked to a store has been found alive and in fairly good condition, according to Albany police Lt. Thomas Gibbons.

Donald Woodward was found late in the afternoon in a ditch across from the Riverview Center at 150 Broadway by New York state Forest Rangers. He was sent to Albany Medical Center Hospital for evaluation.

Before he was located, Woodward was last seen at about 3 p.m. Thursday walking from his Lindbergh Avenue home to a grocery store in Menands, police said, and was reported missing Friday after he did not return.
